“The RISE (Relational, Individual, Social, and Environmental) model is an integrated and restorative elder-abuse intervention approach that has been effective in Maine since 2019. It complements Adult Protective Services (APS) by focusing on the goals and needs of the older adult victim, while also providing support for the ‘harmer’ and their relationship with the victim, if desired. Other states and Canada are considering adopting the RISE model due to its success and strong support from APS.”
